  • In my opinion, the best Rolex Daytona to buy right now would be the stainless steel Daytona ref. 116520. Rolex no longer produces this model since the company replaced it with the Daytona ref. 116500LN with a ceramic bezel in 2016.

Why is this the best Daytona to buy right now? Here’s how I see it:

    1. It’s readily available in the secondary market unlike the harder to find and much more expensive new ceramic Daytona
    2. It has a classic Daytona look with its steel 40mm Oyster case, matching steel Oyster bracelet, and comes with a choice of a black or white dial. Steel is an easy metal to wear all the time rather than flashier/more fragile gold.
    3. It’s powered by the in-house 4130 automatic movement, which many agree is one of the best modern chronograph movements out there with its vertical clutch system.
    4. Stainless steel bezel is cheaper/easier to service if it gets damaged over a ceramic bezel.

An absolute classic, the Rolex Daytona ref. 116520 is the one to own in my book!
