Kintaro Hattori established a watch and jewelry store in the Ginza district of Tokyo in 1881. He started making clocks under the Seikosha brand eleven years later. The Seiko Corporation, a huge organization, emerged from these humble beginnings. Seiko is one of the most vertically integrated watch companies in the world, producing everything from the lubricants used to lubricate the watches to the luminous materials used on the hands and dials, despite being primarily known in the west for their fairly priced watches. Seiko also invented the world’s first quartz wristwatch, making them one of the most important companies in the history of horology. Please drop by to talk about or enquire about Seiko!
